A-1 Pictures

K. K. A-1 Pictures (Japanese株式会社 エー· ·ワンピクチャーズ, Kabushiki - gaisha ¢ Wan Pikuchāzu ) is a Japanese animation studio, founded on 9 May 2005. It is a subsidiary of Sony's anime production division, Aniplex and is located entirely within its possession.

History

The studio was founded by Sony's animation division, Aniplex on 9 May 2005, to take over the animation and production of some animes that should be targeted at families. In 2006 it co-produced with Y.K. Noside with the children's television series Zenmai Zamurai his debut release. In October of the same year, a studio was opened in Asagaya. Thus, the company was fully satisfying equipped and was entrusted with the production of various works of other genre and areas. The first regular series was okiku Furikabutte which was produced in 2007. Since the successes of 2007/2008, the studio is also an international presence, and took part in the example Anime Expo 2007, held in Long Beach, California.

On 26 June 2010, the first produced by the Studio movie called Uchū Show e Yokoso (宇宙ショーへようこそ, Uchū shō e Yokoso ) was released in theaters.
