A Filetta

A Filetta ( Corsican for " ferns ") is a Corsican vocal group that was founded in 1978.

Members of the group are: Jean -Claude Acquaviva, Paul Giansily, Jean -Luc Geronimi, José Filippi, Jean Sicurani, Maxime Vuillamier, Cecce Acquaviva

They include not only I Muvrini the most famous representatives of the Corsican polyphony, a tradition of polyphonic singing that was almost forgotten. A Filetta made ​​a significant contribution to the revitalization of Corsican cultural heritage and are now involved in cross-genre projects in the fields of film, theater, opera and dance. Here, the artist can show international performances.

The group is co-organizer of the annually since 1989 in Calvi ( Corsica South ) held Rencontres de Chants Polyphoniques, a meeting of vocal artists of various styles.
