A Night at the Opera is the 1975 published, fourth studio album by British rock band Queen. The title comes from the eponymous film of the Marx Brothers from 1935.

The album

The recordings for A Night at the Opera took place from August to November 1975. The published November 21 album with the hit single Bohemian Rhapsody remained 50 weeks in the UK charts and reached there first place with a triple platinum award, the album was also in the United States a great commercial success. It is regarded by many as one of the greatest achievements of the band. The single Bohemian Rhapsody reached number 1 in the UK and rank 9 in the U.S.. When the title was in 1991 or 1992 again released as a single, it was back to square one in the UK and # 2 in the U.S.. The album also includes You're My Best Friend, which went to number 14 in the U.S. charts. I'm in Love with My Car is a written and sung by drummer Roger Taylor hard rock tracks, dedicated to the racing enthusiast Queen roadie John Harris. The piece was many years later also used in commercials for the car brand Jaguar Cars.

A musical fun is Seaside Rendezvous is, imitating a band of the 1920s in the Mercury and Taylor. The accompaniment on the electric piano to You're My Best Friend is played by Deacon. May accompanied Love of My Life on a Harp and The Prophet 's Song with a toy koto. In Good Company he represents with his " Red Special " is a complete jazz band, here also the ukulele used again.
