A. J. McLean

Alexander James McLean ( born January 9, 1978 in West Palm Beach, Florida) is an American singer and member of the boy band Backstreet Boys.

Biography

AJ McLean came on January 9, 1978 in West Palm Beach, Florida, the son of Denise Fernandez and Bob McLean to the world. When he was two years old, the parents divorced and AJ went to live with his mother and later with his grandparents.

AJ's show career began in childhood. He had already seven years old his first comp card and was a hot child model.

In one of his fashion shows AJ fell to a director who hired him for a theatrical version of " Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs " as Dopey. AJ was able to convince the people so that he subsequently received a two-year contract for the role. In addition to the primary school AJ visited the " Boca Raton Dance Studio " where he got two hours a day for five years ballet and dance classes. He also played a role in the popular U.S. children's series " Hi Honey, I'm Home ".

1990 AJ moved with his mother to his grandparents Ursula and Adolph to Kissimmee. There he attended for four years the private drama school "Florida Academy of Dramatic Arts ". On one of his countless auditions and interviews Howie Dorough, and later he met Nick Carter, which also members of the five-person, over the years internationally successful boy band Backstreet Boys in 1993.

2001, when the Backstreet Boys were located just on a world tour with her fourth studio album, " Black and Blue ", AJ publicly known to be alcoholics, and to have taken cocaine. He then went to a rehab clinic, which is why the Backstreet Boys had to interrupt their tour. After a relapse and renewed withdrawal AJ today claims to be no more alcohol problems.

After a band break from 2001 to 2003 and two further albums and tours, published the Backstreet Boys in the fall of 2009 their youngest and thus seventh studio album "This Is Us " with which they were subsequently also been on the road on a world tour.

On December 17, 2011 McLean has married his longtime girlfriend, Rochelle Karidis in Los Angeles, on 27 November 2012, the daughter Ava Jaymes was born.
