In 2006, a comprehensive reconstruction with the help of EU funds was begun. From Baltezers where built in the Soviet Union crossing of the railway line is changed in an underpass until Ainaži the entire A 1 was partly widened, partly designed for higher loads. Road

The "A 1" takes its beginning about 14 km from Riga city center, along the northeast road cross with the " A2 " and " A4 " in the Riga suburb Baltezers ( German: White Lake ). Attractions

At the beginning of the A 1, the distance between the Little and the Great White Lake leads through.
