A830 road

Road to the Isles is a scenic road in the Scottish Highlands. It is in the Council Area Highland and links the towns of Fort William and Mallaig. It runs largely parallel to the route of the West Highland Railway, operates on the Jacobite Steam Train.

The road is about 70 kilometers long and is dotted with numerous attractions of the Highlands. It begins in the tourist center of Fort William. After a few kilometers, the traveler reaches called in BANAVIE the staircase locks of the Caledonian Canal, Neptune 's Staircase. Then the road turns west and runs along the north shore of Loch Eil. A few kilometers further west you meet the Glenfinnan Monument at Loch Shiel and the Glenfinnan Viaduct known from several movies.
