A9.com, Inc. is a company founded in October 2003, owned by Amazon.com, which deals with the development of search and advertising technology. There are branches in Palo Alto, Bangalore, Beijing, Dublin, Iasi and Tokyo.

In the early years, the company concentrated under the direction of Udi Manber on the internet search engine A9.com, the product that has since been used by all the Amazon sites and some other Internet mail order companies and an advertising platform. Some services, such as " Search Inside the Book" to be continued until today, while others no longer exist as its own search portal.

A9.com developed in 2005 the OpenSearch specification and released it under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 License.
