The A968 road is an A road in the Scottish Shetland Islands. With Mainland, Yell and Unst it extends over three islands and includes two ferry.

Course

The road branches off in Hillside on Mainland of the A970. It runs north and reaches the estuary Dales Voe the east coast of Mainland's. A few kilometers north, after a total distance of around 16 km, the road ends at the ferry dock by Toft.

After the ferry to Yell, the A968 continues its course in Ulsta. There, the B9081 branches, runs along the south and east coasts, while the first A968 runs in a northerly direction along the west coast, then bends to the east and the B9081 resumes at Mid Yell. The estuary Basta Voe surround and reaches the A968 Sella Firth and finally the coastal town Gutcher on the northeast coast. The total distance to Yell is around 29 km away.

With a ferry to Bluemull Sound, crossing, the A968 continues on Unst. You tangent Belmont (see Belmont House ) and crosses Unst in a northeasterly direction. They eventually reached Baltasound on Balta Sound, on the east coast. A few kilometers north of the A968 ends in Haroldswick. The B9068 performs as an extension of the road in a northwesterly direction and ends on Burra Firth. On Unst, the A968 has a length of 16 km and thus has a total length of 61 km.
