Aag (Hindi: आग, AG; Urdu: آگ; translated: Fire ) is a Hindi film from 1948 and the directorial debut of the then 23 year old producer, director and actor Raj Kapoor.

Action

The bride in the bedroom discovered the disfigured face of her groom, who then tells his story:

Kewal accepted only reluctantly call his father to follow the family tradition and go to law school in order to become a successful lawyer just like him one. Actually Kewal always wanted to play with his childhood friend Nimmi together on stage theater. To his regret, she moved with her family to a strange city.

Nevertheless, Kewal are not his dream on: When he falls through the exam while studying as a lawyer, he throws everything and tries to be a theater actor. Then his father throws him out of the house because he does not tolerate disobedience of his son.

Ultimately lands Kewal after a long search in the run-down theater by the painter Rajan. Rajan is delighted Kewals acting talent and asks him the theater under his leadership to re-open. Kewal is overjoyed and goes in search of a leading lady. He meets a nameless woman from Punjab, which he then called Nimmi and makes her a star.

It does not take long and the two fall in love. During a play Kewal finds out that Rajan is in love with Nimmi. Therefore, he asks Nimmi to forget him and live with Rajan, but she rejects this request. Consequently, it sets the stage on fire. His left side of the face comes into contact with fire, so Kewals face is totally disfigured. His plan is successful: Nimmi leaves Kewal due to the disfigured face.
