Aalborg Carnival

Carnival in Aalborg is a carnival, which in the last week in Milan ( calendar week 21) takes place in the city of Aalborg. The Aalborg Carnival is the biggest carnival organized since 1983 is Northern Europe. Every year, about 25,000 participants and 100,000 spectators

Initially, the Carnival was very organized in the city of Aalborg. With the growth of the event, the main festival was moved to the southern city of Kildeparken, the parades lead but still through the city center.

Carnival for a week

The Aalborg Carnival consists of three major Carnival events: the biggest carnival in Scandinavia, the Battle of Carnival Bands and Children's Carnival. Besides these three main events offers the week various cultural events, which may vary from year to year.

The biggest carnival in Scandinavia

The largest carnival in Northern Europe takes place on Saturday in week 21 and consists of a parade through the town and a carnival party in town Kildeparken. Everyone can participate, and the principle of the carnival is " performer are you". The parade begins at four different locations in Aalborg, and the procession parts gather in the city center. All can participate in the parade and at the carnival party. Around 25,000 participants and 100,000 spectators flock to the city to experience the carnival.

Battle of Carnival Bands

Battle of Carnival Bands is an international carnival show where carnival groups from around the world compete for the title of "Best Carnival Group of the Year ". The groups will be assessed both when moving and in a show in the city Kildeparken. The event will take place in week 21 on Friday.

Children's Carnival

Children and their parents go in the children's carnival parade through downtown and end in the city Kildeparken where entertainment, games, music and dance can be found for the children. Children's Carnival takes place before the calendar week 21 on Sunday.
