The Aaron's 312 is a car race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, which will be held at Talladega Superspeedway. Sponsor of the race of Aaron, a provider of leasing services for household items. The twelve extra miles of usually over 300 miles for the next race serve marketing purposes by Sponsor.

With the introduction of the race, the race distance was 500 km or 312 miles. It was thus the longest race in the Nationwide Series. However, car racing in the U.S. are rare with a scheduled race distance in kilometers, especially in NASCAR. In the case of the Talladega Super Speedway there was previously ARCA race that went over a distance of 500 km, because as a marketing reasons "500" lucrative appears as "300". In 1998, fans complained about the use of the metric specification, since they are not used in practice in the U.S. and also the length of the race track itself is given in miles. Then the management decided, the race distance adapt to 300 miles, which was run between 1998 and 2001. To this end, the race was shortened by four rounds.

In 2002, Aaron's main sponsor and the race was going back ever since 312 miles, which coincidentally is the original distance, but due to the slogan of the sponsor.
