Aaron ben Elijah

Aaron ben Elijah (* 1300 in Cairo, † 1369 in Constantinople Opel ) was the most important philosopher of religion of the Karaites.

Life

Aaron ben Elijah settled in 1330 in Nicomedia (Asia Minor) down.

Aaron ben Elijah held the teaching of the Kalam ( Islamic theology ) because of their conformity with the Bible in the core of Jewish origin, and was friendlier towards her as the Aristotelian system, which therefore is not compatible built on pagan ground and with Judaism. He criticized and polemics especially against Maimonides.
