Aavo Pikkuus

Aavo Pikkuus ( born November 23, 1954 in Karepa, Vihula ) is a former Soviet cyclist, rally driver and current entrepreneurs Estonian origin.

Life and achievements

Pikkuus coached from 1968 on the road bike. From 1972 to 1981 belonged to Pikkuus the Soviet cycling team. With the Summer Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976, he won the Soviet Union in team driving more than 100 km the gold medal.

In 1977 he won the singles competition, the 1648 km long International Peace drive from Warsaw to Berlin and Prague. In the same year he won at the World Championships gold medal in the 100 km team driving. At the World Championship 1975 and 1978 he won two silver medals.

In the Soviet Championships Pikkuus celebrated 1974-1981 great success: in various disciplines, he won a total of 19 medals (12 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze ). Nine times he was Estonian champion.

After his playing days as a cyclist was Aavo Pikkuus 1981 to 1995 worked as a rally driver. With his partner Lehar Linno he won in 1983, the Estonian Saaremaa Ralli.

With restoration of Estonian independence Pikkuus founded in 1991 the company Pikkuus sport and is now an entrepreneur.
