Abbasi Hotel

The Abbasi Hotel or Hotel Abbasi, (originally Mādarschāh Kārwānsarā, caravanserai of the king's mother ) is a centrally located hotel complex in the Iranian city of Isfahan.

History

Built under Sultan Hosein in the 17th century and dedicated to his mother, the building complex was originally conceived as Madreseh, bazaar and caravanserai. Even then flanked the construction of an eight -by-eight -foot square garden.

In 1957, the caravanserai was on the advice of the director of the Iranian Archeological Service ( IAS), André Godard, restored and converted into a hotel, with the basic structures of the system were maintained. Due to the symmetrical garden leads a typical Persian gardens pool.

In 1965, the reconstruction of the plant were completed, the original facades of the caravanserai and get the Karawansereiräume had been converted into artfully decorated hotel rooms. In 1971, the hotel complex was expanded to include an area of ​​11,500 m².
