Abbuoto

Abbuoto (synonyms: Aboto, Cecubo ) is a red grape that is cultivated in the Italian region of Lazio. It is generally not extended varietal wine, but used as a blending partner in the wine. The alcohol content of the wines produced from their red wines is high. The largest wine-growing areas are located in the outskirts of Fondi in the province of Latina.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In the ampelography the habit is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is woolly hairy, greenish with easy weißfarbenem approach. The bright green young leaves are almost glabrous and greenish- bronze color.
  • The medium-sized leaves ( see also the article sheet form) are indented five lobes and narrow. The petiole is U-shaped open. The sheet is cut sharply. The leaf surface, also called leaf blade is blistered coarse.
  • The cylindrical to conical grape is sometimes shouldered, large and quite dichtbeerig. The roundish berries are medium in size and of a bluish- violet color.

The grape ripens about 22 days after Chasselas, so similar to the Pinot Noir and is therefore applicable in Lazio as early maturing. Abbuoto is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is thus self- fruiting. When the wine-growing economic disadvantage is avoided, no return delivered to have male plants grow.
