ABC (Yet Another BitTorrent Client)

ABC (Yet Another BitTorrent Client) is a free, written in Python file sharing application for the BitTorrent protocol.

He needs to run the Python runtime environment and wxPython for the GUI.

It supports a queuing system with priority, global and local ( per torrent ) Settings for download ( including uploading and downloading Bandwidth Control ), three options of what to do with complete files and a system called Uploadrate Manager ( URM ) by torrents from the remove queue, if any ( previously defined ) is present enough upload activity.

In contrast to the surface BitTornado is more detailed, there can be multiple torrents managed and the client are minimized to the notification area.

The client supports Webseeds which require only webspace, PHP and MySQL, so it is with an inexpensive web servers is possible to add a reliable source to its torrent. He has also developed a web interface, which the client can be controlled.

History

ABC is based on BitTornado ( formerly Shadow's Experimental Client) by John Hoffman ( Shad0w ), which in turn touches on Bram Cohen's original BitTorrent client. BitTornado ABC has extended to the queue.

Since 2005, come no more official releases from the project, but are further maintained by the Community, some unofficial modified versions. Furthermore, there are some descendants that are actively being developed ( Tribler, Torrent Swapper ).
