Abdulaziz Komilov

Abdulaziz Xofizovich Komilov (Cyrillic Uzbek - Абдулазиз Хофизович Комилов; Russian Абдулазиз Хафизович Камилов Abdulasis Chafisowitsch Kamilov; born November 16, 1947 in Yangiyol, Uzbek SSR, Soviet Union ) is an Uzbek politician.

Abdulaziz Komilov graduated first in the 1960s, higher education and studied later ( until 1978 ) at the Diplomatic Academy of the Soviet Foreign Ministry. In 1980, he completed a post graduate course at the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. He is Candidate of Historical Sciences.

Since 1972 Komilov was alternately in the Middle East Department of the Soviet Foreign Ministry in Moscow and worked. Against Soviet embassies in Syria and Lebanon After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he worked at the Uzbek Embassy in Moscow. In 1992 he returned to Uzbekistan, where he was deputy director of the National Security Service. From April to August 1994 he was first deputy foreign minister and from August 1994 to March 2003 Finally, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan. After his replacement by Sodiq Safoyev he was briefly an advisor to the Uzbek President Islom Karimov and was appointed in August 2003 as Ambassador of Uzbekistan in the U.S., which he remained until 2010. On January 13, 2012, he was again Secretary of State.
