The Abe (Japanese安 倍 川, Abe - kawa ) is a river in Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan.

It is 53.3 km long and has a catchment area of 567 km ². The river has its origin in Suruga in the Akaishi Mountains and flows into the Shizuoka Suruga Bay. He is well known for its clear waters and an important water source for the city of Shizuoka.

The Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, who once had his base in Shizuoka had to perform extensive construction that gave the river its present course.

Abekawamochi (安 倍 川 饼), mochi ( rice cake) dusted with Kinako (soy flour), was a traditional cake, which was served in tea houses along the river.
