Abitibi Regional County Municipality
Abitibi is a regional county municipality (French municipalité régional du comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Quebec.
It is located in the administrative region Abitibi- Témiscamingue and consists of 19 subordinate administrative units (a city, twelve municipalities, three cantonal municipalities, a parish and two unincorporated areas). The MRC was established on 1 January 1983. The main town is Amos. The population is 24,942 and the area 7617.8 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 3.3 inhabitants per km ².
