Abkhaz alphabet

The Abkhaz alphabet is a writing system for the posting of the Abkhaz language, which is an extension of the Cyrillic.

It has existed since 1862. Was developed by Baron Peter von Uslar and originally consisted of 37 Cyrillic letters. 1905 a Cyrillic alphabet with 55 letters was used. Nikolai Marr developed a Latin alphabet with 75 letters, that was used from 1926 to 1928, which was replaced by a more developed new Latin script. In 1937 the Georgian font for the Abkhaz was introduced during the period of Stalinism. After Stalin's death was the re-introduction of the Cyrillic alphabet, which is used to this day.
