Abkhazian presidential election, 2011
The presidential election in Abkhazia in 2011 took place on August 26th of the year. They had become necessary after Sergei Bagapsh, former President of the internationally unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia largely, died 29 May 2011 in office. The elections were called accordingly by independent observers as relatively free and as democratic principles.

To select three candidates presented:
- Alexander Ankvab, Interim President ( since 2011 ), Vice - President (2010-2011), Prime Minister (2005-2010 )
- Raul Khadzhimba, Vice - President (2005-2009), Prime Minister (2003-2004), Defense Minister (2002-2003)
- Sergei Shamba, Prime Minister (since 2010), Foreign Minister (1997-2004, 2004-2010 )
