Abraham ben Solomon

Abraham ben Solomon of Torrutiel (* 1482, † in the 16th century ) was a North African- Jewish historian of Spanish origin.

On the occasion of the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492, he came over ten years with his family to Fez ( Morocco today ). Around 1510 he wrote a Hebrew chronicle as a continuation of Sefer ha - Kabbalah of Ibn Daud. The first part includes the appendix to this chronicle, the second part deals with the period up 1463rd The third part includes a chronicle of the Spanish kings from a Jewish point of view, followed by the description of the expulsion of the Jews from Spain and their settlement in Morocco. Of particular interest is this part because Abraham ben Solomon had lived the events of 1492 as an eyewitness. The chronicle was first published in 1887 by Adolf Neubauer. Also Abraham ben Solomon are attributed certain Kabbalistic writings.
