Abraham Diepraam

Abraham Diepraem (* 1622 in Rotterdam, † after 1674 ) was a Dutch painter.

Diepraem was a pupil of the painter Dirck Stoop, of him later in the studio of the genre painter Hendrik Martensz. Sorgh mediated. But studying ( and copying) works Adriaen Brouwer influenced Diepraems artistic career.

With 26 years Diepraem was taken in 1648 by the Guild of St. Luke in Dordrecht as a member. There lived and worked in Dordrecht Diepraem then some years.

With over 50 years Abraham Diepraem died after 1674 at the hospital to Rotterdam.

Diepraems artistic early work is quite comparable to Jan Miense Molenaers and Hendrik Martensz Sorghs. But so evenly matched it this may be, in its entirety Diepraem was then not yet Adriaen Brouwer, Adriaen van Ostade and David Teniers the Younger surpass.
