Abraham Ellstein

Abraham " Abe" Ellstein ( born July 9, 1907 in New York City; † March 22, 1963 ) was an American composer of Yiddish popular music.

He was born in the Lower East Side, Manhattan, the "Eastern Europe" of Jewish immigrants, and, with his songs of the pioneers of American Jewish Music Theatre and co-founder of the musical tradition of Broadway. He also contributed to the film Yidl mitn fiddle - one of the most successful films in the Yiddish language - Music at.
