Abraham Leon

Abram Leon (* Abraham Wejnstok 1918 in Warsaw, † October 7, 1944 in Auschwitz ) was a Jewish Communist.

Leon grew up in Belgium and became a leading member of the Hashomer Hatzair Zionist youth movement. In 1940 he broke with Zionism and joined the Belgian section of the Trotskyist Fourth International. Actively involved in underground activities in Belgian factories and in the anti- fascist propaganda among German soldiers, Léon was arrested in June 1944 and deported to Auschwitz. He died shortly afterwards in the gas chamber.
