Farewell to the clouds ( alternative title: Farewell of the Gods ) is a German adventure film from 1959, based on a manuscript by Ladislas Fodor.

Action

The adventurer Peter von Houten escapes on the fictional, but competitive Eiland San Quinto only just a firing squad. He was pardoned and to be with a line machine that is on the way from Mexico City to Madrid, deported. Almost the entire film takes place within the aircraft, where entangle multiple storylines together. The pilot Pink Roberti and his co-pilot Richard Marshall are opposite hostile, as they are both in love with the stewardess Carla and constantly courting their favor. In a kidnapping attempt Roberti is shot down and the aircraft damaged. The always arrogant co-pilot failed during the landing approach to Madrid and he does not, to control the aircraft after the failure of the hydraulic further. Only the adventurers of Houten, the passengers were met at the beginning with great suspicion, it is possible to safely land the plane to a breakneck descent.
