AC Pavia

The Associazione Calcio Pavia is an Italian football club based in Pavia. The club was founded in 1911 and plays its home matches at the Stadio Pietro Fortunati, which seats 6,000 spectators. AC Pavia currently playing in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione, the third- highest division in Italy.

History

The AC Pavia was founded in 1911 in the town of Pavia with good seventy thousand inhabitants in Lombardy. At the time of the founding of the club was called FBC Pavia, Pavia pronounced Foot Ball Club. 1928 had the club name be changed because FBC was derived from English and this did not please the fascist rulers. The club was called henceforth FC Pavia. After several name changes, including the resumption of the FBC Pavia to end the dictatorship of Mussolini, was the actual name, AC Pavia, introduced in 1960.

Still under the first name Pavia had played three years in the Prima Categoria, which at that time equaled the Italian football championship.
