The kangaroo thorn, even kangaroo acacia ( Acacia paradoxa; synonym Acacia armata ) is a plant of the genus Acacia (Acacia ). The Kangaroo Thorn is located in Australia.

Description

The kangaroo thorn is a woody plant; it grows as an upright shrub with a more efficient ring growth and reaches heights of growth 1-4 meters. The brownish- gray bark is finely fissured, more or less hairy branches are grooved cylindrical and flat.

The thorny expiring, slender stipules are about 5 to 15 millimeters long. The function of the leaves take on so-called phyllodes, so flattened petioles. They are 0.8 to 3 inches long and 2.5 to 7 mm wide, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic bent out of shape and just to weak. You are bald to hairy and midrib as the ribs on the edge protrude significantly, however, the side ribs remain unclear. The leaf margins are often more or less wavy, the blade tip is pungent pointed. The description by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle under the currently valid taxon Acacia paradoxa was published in 1813. A common synonym is a few months later published in the same year description under the taxon Acacia armata by Robert Brown. Other synonyms are Acacia undulata spin and Racosperma paradoxum ( DC.) Mart.
