Academy for German Law

The Academy of German Law was the scientific point of reference for the work on the reorganization and training of the German law for the purposes of National Socialist ideology and instrument of jurisprudential Gleichschaltung of the Company during the period of National Socialism.

The Academy was founded on June 26, 1933 in Munich and proclaimed by the Reich Commissioner for the DC circuit of Justice Hans Frank on the German Jurists of the National Socialist Jurists Association in Leipzig on October 2, 1933. By imperial law of 11 July 1934, she became a public body of the empire, headquartered in Munich.

Organization and tasks

Institutions of the Academy were the President ( until 1942 Hans Frank, 1942-1944 Otto Thierack ), who was appointed by the Chancellor, and the Board, which supported the President in his duties and advised. Known members were Frederick Minoux, Hermann Goering, Hans Frank, Roland Freisler, Max Hildebert Boehm, Karl Christian von Loesch, Carl Schmitt, Ernst Hugo Correll, Wolfgang Siebert, Karl Maria Hettlage Friedrich Grimm, Horst Bartholomeyczik, Werner Sombart, Eberhard Schmidt, Hans Würdinger (1903-1989) and others.
