Accentus Austria

Accentus Austria is one in Vienna in 1988, founded by Thomas Wimmer Ensemble for Early Music, which appears in different instrumentation, as to various performances and recordings of guest musicians are involved. Thomas Wimmer mainly plays viola da gamba, fiddle and Laud. Michael Posch and Wolfgang Reithofer are core members of the ensemble, the recorders and percussion as well as Donabukka, tambourine and other play. Main concern is the early music of Spain with special reference to their improvisational elements.

The repertoire ranges from popular music of the early to polyphonic sacred and secular music of the late 16th century. Accentus Austria played a number of CDs and repeat performances throughout Europe, Israel and Morocco.
