Ace (Band)

Ace was an English Pubrockband 1970s.

Band History

Founded in 1972 in Sheffield as Ace Flash & the Dynamos, the quintet named shortly thereafter into Ace. Their first album Five -A -Side ( 1974) and the first single How Long ( Has This Been Going On ), written by vocalist and keyboardist Paul Carrack himself could convince especially in the United States.

Despite good reviews, however, the second album was not a great success more and also a second hit single they were denied. And after a third album in 1977 did not return success, they parted.

Fran Byrne, Paul Carrack and Comer Terry joined temporarily Frankie Miller as part of the backing band on. And especially Paul Carrack had as a soloist and with various other artists such as Mike & The Mechanics great success later. Among other things he took in 1996 and again at the Ace hit How Long and thus reached the charts.
