Description

It is a large shrub or a eight to ten feet high schmalkronigen tree. The young shoots are usually reddish, sometimes green and slightly frosted and hairy in the bud. Older branches are dark green to gray- green, sometimes with black or white vertical stripes.

The leaves are unlobed or obscurely three-lobed at the base, oblong- ovate, acuminate four to eight inches long, the base is slightly heart-shaped. They are irregularly finely toothed, bluish green and glabrous, lower side dull green, slightly frosted and hairy in the bud. The petiole is colored two to three centimeters long and red. The autumn color is scarlet.
