History and style

The name of the band is due to the book Say You Love Satan by David St. Clair. Its protagonist Ricky Kasso, who has committed a satanic murder in Northport, New York, 1984, is nicknamed The Acid King.

The band Acid King is mentioned in two books published in 2003, on the one hand in The Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal and the other in the book A to Z of Doom, Gothic & Stoner Metal. In the 2009 completed documentation search Hawks search Hounds - Scenes from the American Hard Rock Underground is one of the bands portrayed.

Strongly influenced by traditional doom metal and psychedelic rock, the music of Acid King is characterized by slow, deep and heavily distorted guitar riffs, accompanied by the distinctive " hypnotic " voice of the singer.
