Acidogenesis

The acidogenesis, which can be also referred to as fermentation represents a further stage of the facultative anaerobic degradation process during the anaerobic digestion of biogenic substances; they proceeds simultaneously with the hydrolysis, and in this non-specific acid forming the monomeric Interdukte hydrolysis, on the one hand in the lower fat / carboxylic acids, such as butyric, propionic and acetic acid, on the other hand, converted into lower alcohols, such as ethanol. In this step, the implementation of facultative anaerobic microorganisms recorded for the first time an energy gain and there are already formed up to 20% of the total amount of acetic acid in this reaction.
