ACOnet

The ACOnet (Austrian Academic Computer Network) is a high- performance network for science and research or research-related facilities in Austria.

Establishment and Duties

The club was founded in 1986. The ACOnet connects universities and research institutions on the internet together. It's run network based on Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet computer science from the Central Service of the University of Vienna. Connection points are located in Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Dornbirn, Klagenfurt, Leoben, Graz and Eisenstadt. 2009 also came connectivity in St. Pölten and Krems to.
