Actinism

Under Aktinität (also Aktinismus; ἁκτίς of Greek, genitive ἁκτῖνος, beam ' ) is the photochemical efficiency of electromagnetic radiation of different wavelengths.

The term is used for example in the evaluation of the physiological effects of laser light of different color or the spectral sensitivity of photographic films and photographic papers. In photochemistry are called actinic chemicals those that are light - or radiation- sensitive.

Actinic inspection of masks in the production of computer chips, refers to the test with the same light wavelength, which is also used for the manufacturing.

In medicine actinic means " caused by radiation or light " (eg, actinic dermatitis).
