Ada is an entity belonging to Montenegro island in the Adriatic. It is (Albanian: Buna ) in the small estuary of the river Bojana in the Adriatic Sea. The Buna forms at their lower reaches the border with neighboring Albania.

Ada has approximately the shape of a triangle. The width is around 3 kilometers by 2.5 kilometers. The island was formed by the flotsam of the Buna / Bojana. It is therefore very flat and barely rises more than 3 meters above the sea level. On the seaward side is a long beach that is especially used for nudists.

In Ada numerous rare bird species are at home.

Through a bridge over the right branch of the river Bojana is connected with the Montenegrin side of the mainland. There lies the small town of Sveti Nikola.

Curious emergence

In the 19th century there was in the mouth of the Bojana two small islands. 1858 was the schooner Merito from Trogir under the river. It is assumed that has accumulated over time to the hull of the sunken ship from the river carried material that filled the gap between the two small islands, and so today's Ada was born.
