Ada Conformity Assessment Test Suite

The Ada Conformity Assessment Test Suite ( ACATS ) is a collection of test programs to ensure that an Ada compiler supports the language standard and specification compliance. A compiler that is the test is referred to as validated.

In the foreword of the ACATS is:

Loosely translated, this means as much as: "The manufacture declares that the program does not deliberately deviates from the standard, however, deviations occur in individual cases. "

The second paragraph goes into more detail on the intended effect of the review:

The second paragraph says so much like: " The purpose of the review is to coordinate the program as far as possible to the specifications. The test of whether the program can use for a particular purpose is not the task of these tools. Also a check can never be complete, so that a compiler may differs validated elsewhere of the specification. "
