Adalbert Friedrich

Adalbert Friedrich ( born June 10, 1884 in Leipzig, † July 4, 1962 ) was a German football player.

Life

Adalbert Friedrich joined at age 13 VfB Leipzig, for which he should be his whole career active. In 1900 he made ​​his debut 16- year in the first team and in 1903 he won with the VfB and together with his brother Walter, the first German football championship. In the following years, Frederick was at all the success of the Leipzig case. Until the beginning of the First World War, he missed the only player of his club not a final game for the German championship, and that, although he often was on business in North and West Germany on the go. Thus, the left winger was also at the championships in 1906 and 1913 and this was also the case of two final defeats on the pitch. In total, he completed 19 finals games and scored at least four goals.

The Crown Prince Cup Friedrich played four times for Central Germany before he was ousted by Arthur Gäbelein from Halle FC Hohenzollern. Frederick was part of the winning team in the first edition of the Cup 1909.

On May 16, 1910 Frederick completed his only game for the German selection. In the 0-3 defeat against Belgium he played as a left winger in the forward line on the side of Gablonsky, Schilling, Bauwens ( 55 Breynk ) and Reislant.

By the beginning of the First World War ended his footballing career at age 30.
