Adam A500

The airplane Adam A500 is a twin-engine business jet in low-wing design of the former U.S. manufacturer Adam Aircraft Industries. Production is expected to be taken up by "Triton Aerospace" again (as of April 2011).

History

The aircraft is based on the Adam M -309, which was manufactured by Scaled Composites. The first flight of the prototype took place on 11 July 2002. The second prototype flew on 28 February 2003 for the first time. On 11 May 2005 the pattern was approved by the FAA. There are (6/ 2005) 65 orders. On 31 December 2005, the first machine (serial number: 0006) was delivered.

Following the bankruptcy of the company in February 2008, the facilities were taken over first by the Russian " AAI Acquisitions " and after its bankruptcy in 2009 of "Triton Aerospace". The production of the A500 should therefore be included in a modified form as turboprop again.

Construction

The two motors are mounted in front of and behind the fuselage nacelle. The double tail booms are connected by the horizontal stabilizer. The machine has a pressurized cabin and a retractable landing gear and is made largely of carbon-fiber- reinforced plastic.
