Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski

Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski ( born December 1, 1734 Gdansk, † March 22, 1823 in Sieniawa, Galicia ) was the son of Prince August Aleksander and his wife Maria Zofia.

Czartoryski was by Augustus III. Set up death as a candidate for the Polish throne, but had to give Stanislaus Poniatowski. He resigned after the First Partition of Poland because of its situated in Galicia possessions in Austrian service. Emperor Joseph II appointed him Field Marshal and granted him the title of Highness and by the Hungarian Indigenat.

At the Reichstag from 1788 to 1791 and to the aspirations of the Polish nobility, the fatherland to bring back the independence, he took keen interest, but looked in vain for the Elector of Saxony to accept the crown of Poland and the Austrian Emperor to mediate the selfish intentions of Russia towards to moving.

Appointed Senator Palatinus, he retired to his estates, and died March 22, 1823 in Sieniawa in Galicia.
