Ádám Kósa

Ádám Kósa ( born July 1, 1975 in Budapest) is a Hungarian politician ( Fidesz ). Since the European elections of 2009, he is the first deaf Member of Parliament.

Life

After studying Law at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University Kosa worked from 2005 in the Hungarian Ministry of Justice. He was also a member of the Bar in Budapest and sports manager at the Semmelweis University.

As of 2001, Kosa was a board member since 2005, Chairman of the Hungarian Association of the Deaf and hard of hearing ( SINOSZ ). In 2006 he became a member of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Association of the Deaf ( EUD ) and the Legal Committee of the International Committee of Deaf Sports ( ICSD ). In addition, since 2005 he is a member, from 2006 to 2008 Deputy Chairman, since 2008 Chairman of the National Disability Council in Hungary. In 2008 he was a member of the legal committee of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD ).

In the European elections in Hungary in 2009 Kosa was chosen for the conservative Fidesz party in the European Parliament, where he belongs, like all Fidesz deputies of the Group of the European People's Party ( EPP) and is a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and the Delegation for relations with Japan.
