Adam Lamhamedi

Adam Lamhamedi (Arabic آدم المحمدي; born April 22, 1995, Quebec, Canada ) is a Canadian- Moroccan skier.

Biography

Lamhamedi was born in Canada and grew up there. The skiing he learned at the age of four years. In December 2010, he first participated in FIS races, where he competed for Canada at first. In fall 2011, he decided to Morocco in the future to represent the home of his father. In the Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2012 in Innsbruck, he won the gold medal in the super-G discipline. He is the first African athlete to have won an Olympic medal in a winter sport.

The first podium finish in a FIS race succeeded Lamhamedi in February 2012, the first missions in the Nor- Am Cup followed in December of the same year. With two more podium finishes in FIS races he qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics, where he competed in the giant slalom and the slalom.
