Adam Thirlwell

Adam Thirlwell ( born August 22, 1978) is a British writer and literary critic of Jewish descent.

Life

Thirlwell was educated at the private Haberdashers ' Aske 's Boys ' School in Elstree and then went to study English language at New College, Oxford. He has been variously honored for his essays and achieved an excellent final exam. Subsequently, he was elected a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. During this time he was co-editor of the British literary magazine Areté. In 2011 he was S. Fischer Guest Professor of Comparative Literature at the Free University of Berlin.

His first novel in 2003, Politics and Strategy, attracting attention and was relocated in 2004 in Germany. His collection of " quotations " from other books Miss Herbert, however, was controversial among British critics.
