Adán Chávez
Adán Chávez Frías ( born April 11, 1953, in Sabaneta ) is a Venezuelan politician and brother of Hugo Chávez. Since 2008 he has been Governor of the State of Barinas.
Adán Chávez studied Educational Sciences at the Universidad de Mérida. He was associated with radical leftist groups.
In January 2007, Adán Chávez was appointed by his brother to the Minister of Education. In 2008 he was the candidate of the PSUV for the post of governor in the state of Barinas. When he was elected, he took over his father, who was the governor of Barinas since 2004 the square.
Chávez was regarded as one of the possible successor to his deceased brother as head of state of Venezuela.
