Adductor pollicis muscle

The adductor pollicis (Latin for " thumb approach puller " ) is one of the skeletal muscles of the thenar eminence ( thenar ) and thus one of the muscles of the hand.

The adductor pollicis leads the thumb closer to the index finger. It also causes a slight opposition and extension in the thumb metacarpophalangeal joint.
