Ade Chandra

Ade Chandra ( born February 4, 1950 in Jakarta, formerly Zhang Xing Yen and Thio Gwan Kim ) is a former Indonesian badminton player. He was one of the greatest doubles players in this sport in the 1970s.

Career

1974 occupied Chandra second place at the Asian Games with Christian Hadinata the men's doubles, four years later, he won gold with Tjun Tjun. 1972 and 1973 he won at the All England, the then unofficial world championships, also in doubles with Christian Hadinata.

1973 and 1976 he won with the Indonesian team in the Thomas Cup. At the Olympics in 1972, where badminton was played as a demonstration sport, he won the final with Christian Hadinata against Ng Boon Bee and Punch Gunalan in three sets. In 1977, he was with Hadinata Vice World Champion at the 1st Badminton World Championship behind his compatriots Tjun Tjun and Johan Wahjudi. In the 1980 World Cup, he made ​​it all the way up to the podium.
