Adele Mara

Adele Mara ( born April 28, 1923 in Highland Park, Michigan; † 7, 2010 in Pacific Palisades, California; actually Adelaida Delgado ) was an American actress.

Life

Adele Mara has danced before she was ten years old. Later, her talent was discovered as a singer by Xavier Cugat, in whose orchestra she performed at the age of 15 years. In 1941, she was taken in Hollywood briefly by Columbia Pictures contract in 1943 was awarded as Pinup Girl of the Year and signed a film contract with Republic Pictures, who remained until 1951, in April of the following year. During her time at Republic it was used primarily as Love Interest in numerous B- movies. In the 50s, she appeared as a guest star on mostly in TV series. After 1962, only saw them twice as an actress. In 1978 she retired from the film business.

In 1954, she married the film and television producer Roy Huggins, with whom she had three children and was married until his death in 2002.
