Adem Ljajić (* September 29, 1991 in Novi Pazar, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian football player who is since 2013 the Roma under contract and plays for the Serbian national team. His preferred position is the left midfield.

Life

Ljajić was born into a family of Slavic Muslims.

Career

With 14 years Ljajić moved to Partizan Belgrade. There he went through the youth teams of the club. At 17 he was a regular at Partizan and completed two games in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and three games in the UEFA Cup 2008/09. His first goal he scored 23 November 2008 during the Liga game against OFK Belgrade. In his first season as a professional in 2008, he won the league and cup double. This was followed by winning the championship in 2009 and the re- Doubles 2010.

In October 2008, he completed a trial with English champions Manchester United. On 2 January 2009, he signed a contract with this club. The then 17 -year-old Ljajić changed immediately, but still played to the end for Partizan. Manchester renounced then click the option to purchase Ljajić in winter 2010 because it no work permit was granted.

On 13 January 2010 Ljajić signed for Fiorentina, a four-year contract. The transfer fee was approximately eight million euros. Ljajić debut for his new club on 31 September 2010 at the match against Cagliari, in which he appeared as a substitute in the 82nd minute for Manuel Pasqual. Under coach Cesare Prandelli he came into the first round barely used. However, this changed with the arrival of his compatriot Siniša Mihajlovic as new coach of the club. Under Mihajlovic, he has evolved into the regulars. His first goal for Florence scored Ljajić 18 September 2010 from the penalty spot against Lazio, but the game lost with 1:2 Florence.

On 29 August 2013, the Roma Ljajićs announced commitment for 11 million euros.

Controversies

2 May 2012 Ljajić was replaced in the league match against Novara in the 32th minute of coach Delio Rossi. Ljajić provoked Rossi after his coach by applause, after which Rossi Ljajić dealt a blow. Rossi was released on the same evening as a coach.

In May 2012, Ljajić by coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was released from the Serbian national team after the Serbian national anthem Bože Pravde from " personal reasons " not sang in a friendly against Spain, although he had previously as all the other players signed a code of conduct, among other singing the national anthem contains.
