Adler Apotheke (Dortmund)

The Eagle Pharmacy in Dortmund is the oldest existing at their original location pharmacy in North Rhine -Westphalia.

The eagle pharmacy is located in the Old Market in the heart of the inner city. It is first mentioned in 1322 and their respective owners are proven for over 500 years by name. Currently, the family Ausbüttel operates the eagle pharmacy.

In the basement of buildings of today's pharmacy is now home to a pharmacy museum. Here can be found on almost 100 m² of exhibition space collection pieces from a historical pharmacy with Offizin (hand sales room ), material chamber, laboratory, storage rooms and a herb chamber. On request tours are offered by the private museum.

The pharmacy building as a historic landmark, the historic Mobiliare Victoria Pharmacy in Wuppertal and the Lion Pharmacy in Remscheid are as movable monuments entered in the list of monuments of the city of Dortmund.
